I Can Do Anything through Jesus Who Strengthen Me

" Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father" John 14:12

When most of the Christians read this verse, they think it is some sort of imagination, for how can a simple person like me do things greater than what Jesus had made if he believes in him?! This keeps us wondering, what had Jesus done?

Ÿ  - He healed the sick.

Ÿ  - He got demons out of some peoples’ bodies.

Ÿ  - He raised the dead.

Ÿ  - He controlled the nature.

So can a poor slave like me do great things like these? St.Paul answers in his letter to Ephesians "so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lords holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledgethat you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us." Ephesians 3:17-20

This can be explained through the knowledge that by believing in Jesus, I believe in his death on the cross, I accept him as a personal saviour and receive the gift of The Holy Spirit to me, but do I personally do these miracles?

From the beginning we see miracles made by God’s hands only, later in the new testimony we see that God chooses to take our human bodies as his temples, so he can share his glory with us on earth and rejoice the salvation of the repentant and the healing of the sick. But what are the prerequisites to reach this state?

Ÿ  Having full faith in the atoning act of Christ on the cross to save me personally.

Ÿ  A continuous growth in faith through listening to the word.

Ÿ  Following Jesus by word and deed through keeping his commands. St.Ephrem The Syriac says “my longing attracts me to you my life, to follow you, so my heart becomes a fertile land for you to sow the seeds of your heavenly kingdom, and water it with the drizzle of the eternal life, and you shall harvest reverence, prostration, worship, innocence and love.”

Ÿ  Practical holiness: we acquired a state of holiness in Christ, but, we have to translate this holiness into acts that   reject the sins and work in love and humbleness. In the Old Testament we read: Joshua told the people Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.” Joshua 3:5

Ÿ  Focusing on the word and prayer, regular communion with   the group of faithful.

Ÿ  Self denial, a believer should always remember that all the glory must only be given to the lord of glory; if we follow this rule God will share his glory with us by making us saints who bring blessings to the others even after our death.

There is no better glory than the one obtained from heavens, so congratulations to any one whose hands were used by God to make miracles.

This is a general invitation to everyone to experience all the great blessings given by Lord Jesus Christ.
